Terrance

As a boy's name, Terrance traces back to Roman, where it is understood to mean "Roman clan name of uncertain meaning". It is not as common as it was in the 1980s, though it has not disappeared. Today, it is comfortably in the mainstream in the registry. 1988 was this name's high-water mark in the U.S. birth records.
