Samantha

As a girl's name, Samantha traces back to Aramaic, where it is understood to mean "Listener". It has faded some since the 1990s without dropping off entirely. These days, it is a name nearly everyone knows. It has appeared in U.S. birth records in nearly every decade since 1900, a genuinely long run.
