Randal

As a boy's name, Randal is understood to mean "shield wolf". It had its heyday in the 1950s and has mostly fallen out of use since. Today, it is comfortably in the mainstream in the registry. Few names stick around this long: it shows up across almost the entire twelve-decade span this registry covers.
