Lura

As a girl's name, Lura is understood to mean "Possibly a variant of Laura". It had its heyday in the 1920s and has mostly fallen out of use since. Today, it is on the rarer side without being unusual in the registry. It has quietly persisted through most of the last century of American birth records.
