Berta

As a girl's name, Berta is understood to mean "Bright or bright fame". It had its heyday in the 1920s and has mostly fallen out of use since. Today, it is seldom chosen in the registry. Few names stick around this long: it shows up across almost the entire twelve-decade span this registry covers.
